Chris - I would be curious as to whether you have one of the earlier model Savages with 4 speed transmission. Suzuki factory dealt with this very issue when they reissued the bike in 95 by changing from a 4 to 5 speed transmission. It seems obvious to me that with the resources that the factory has that they chose to go the route of the gearing rather than the sprocket/pulley changeis significant. Neverthless, if you are quite set in pursuing this, I believe you would have better luck dealing with the rear rather than the front sprocket/pulley.
